On September 25, 2013, the Association of Moroccan American Dialog was pleased to have Sam Vaghar, a young American leader, speak to a group of young Moroccan students in Fez about how youth can be mobilized to address global challenges. Sam is the executive director and co-founder of the Millennium Campus Network which aims at empowering student leaders across the United States to be effective partners for global development. Under Sam’s leaderships the MCN educates and trains over 1000 campus leaders and allocates Student Action Grants to support activism on campuses and overseas. Sam had the chance to meet President Obama in the White House to share perspective of US youth leaders. Sam was selected for the 2012 list of the top 99 most influential foreign policy leaders under the age of 33 by the Diplomatic Courier. Sam is an eloquent public speaker; he has given speeches in the United Nations, Harvard University, and MIT, to name a few. His speech in Fez was very appealing to the Moroccan students.
